Hi again! This is the last blog and the year is finishing!
This was a completely different year, full of new experiences and new people. This was my first year at university, and at the beginning I was really nervous, because I didn`t know what to expect. Everything was new, the people, the teachers, the subjects, and the most different and worry new thing was the study methodology, which I didn’t know if the old one would work this time. Before that the year began I was anxious, because everything was different and new, but along the year I realized that everything would be an amazing experience, full of fun and learning.

The first semester was the first approach to the university things. In that period I knew my classmates, and I made strong relationships with some of them. The subjects that I had were cellular biology, genetics and embryology, all as a one big subject, and another big subject that included chemistry, math and biochemistry. At the beginning was hard to get used to the completely different, but when I discovered that with my effort and my dedication everything would be fine. In the first semester I had really good marks, and I`m happy about that, but I think that the most important thing was the people that I met. They are great people, really funny, but especially very wise and a huge support in every moment.

Later, at the second semester, I was more used to the dynamic of study and work at university, but it didn’t make the things easier. In this semester I had anew subject, it was an integrated one, and it included anatomy, physiology, histology and immunology. These are really difficult subjects separately, and more difficult if they are all like one big subject. This period was really exhausting because of that, so now I only want some holidays to sleep well and rest all the time.

This year was full of surprises and new things. I discovered a lot of experiences that I wouldn`t imagine. I enjoy this year, and I have to say that this is one of my best years, because It was a full package, I studied and learned a lot, but also I discovered a lot of great people that support me in every moment that I need. And a really important thing that I think about this year is that I discovered some aspects of myself, different strengths and weaknesses, and after all that this year was I feel really happy, because I think that I`m growing in every aspects.

important challenges in my discipline...

Hi! Today I'm going to talk about important challenges that my discipline, obstetrics, is currently facing.
In the visits that I have made to clinics and hospitals during this year, I could appreciate the level of technology that the midwives were using with the users. In general they were appropiate, but somethings called my attention. For example, to take the pressure, now they use electric machines, not like before, where they took the pressure with stethoscope and taking the radial and brachial pulse. Another thing that I noticed is the quality of the gloves that were deliver at clinics. They were bad, I mean, everytime that the midwife put a glove in her hand they broke.
I think that the government should contribute more money to what concerns the health technology, because the area of health is very important to society, they use it everytime, so the implements have to be of the highest quality, especially in public health centers that are the most visited by the people.

What respect social matters, the midwives are well paid, society sees midwives as a health professional, able to give goods diagnostics, but also, they see them as someone to trust, someone that give support in a very important moments, for example in pregnancy. But something that I really hate is that the gynecologists are doing the work of midwives. They attend deliveries and midwives are subordinated by them, but it doesn't happend everywhere, just in some hospitals. In this case I don't know what to do to change it, because there is a law that says that midwives are responsible to assist normal deliveries, and they manage their team.

One of the most important roles of the midwives is the education. They educate the society about the sexual area, giving talks at clinics. They educate about birth control, or Sexual Transmission Diseases (DTS), for example. But sometimes people don`t want to be educated or they are not interested in this topics. The clinics advertise about this talks through leaflets or posters, but these means of advertising are not so effective, because sometimes they are not really attractive for the people and don’t call their attention. I think that the strategies should be more creative to make people involved in this process.

money, money, money...

Hi! here I am again. Today money is the topic. I think that this is a wierd theme, but I'm going to write about it because I have to.
First I'm a very discombobulated person, so sometimes I put my money in different secret places and I forget where It is. And sometimes I find that money, and It is a really good surprise!
When I have money I don't spend it too fast, and I like to save some of it to other things. But sometimes when I have a bill I don't spend it fast, but when I have coins, I spend this money in small unnecessary stuff.
The most of the times I spend my money in food. I really like chocolates and candys, and always I buy somethings like that.
The times that I save some money, I like to buy different stuff, like clothes, cds, or anything that I want to have.
I don't borrow money from other people really often, when I don't have money I don't use it. I don't like to owe to other person, and sometimes I forget that I had borrowed money, so is better for me don't ask if someone can borrow me some money. But if people ask me to borrow them some money I don't have problems to lend to them, but the people have to be reliable, becuase I want my money back.
Now I have a bank account, in there my dad put some money every month to my expenses, like lunch, photocopies, and different things that could need to university or anything that I want. I'm saving that money for my holidays, because I want to go to somewhere with my friends in the summer.
I don't like too much money, I think that if we use candy balls people will be happier.

improving my faculty...

Hey! Today the blog is about my faculty and suggestions for improving it.
I think my Faculty is very very big, with a lot of different places to stay. For example you have some green beautiful areas, there you can read, lunch or take a rest. This areas are very nice and I really enjoy spend some of my free time there.
Also the faculty has a huge library, and I think that it is the best place that we have in the faculty, because there are a lot of books and interesting magazines that you can use for study, homeworks or anything that you want or need to do, and has different spaces that you can use for different things, like work or study in groups or work in silence. But the computers in there are very slowly. Do something in this computers take a lot of time, and sometimes a lot of them are broken, so you can't do your homeworks or study, and if you don't have a computer in your home they don't help too much. Because of that I think that the solution is to buy new computers or fix the old ones, and It will be a big help for all of us to use more efficiently the time that we spend in there.
Another bad thing that I think that should improve is the security, because a lot of things like bags, cellphones and money are stolen, and the people have to be alert and take care of their personal idems. A solution for this problem could be that the people show their ID when they come to the university.

jimmy, el patiperro ♥

Hi again! Today is free blog, but a free free one, and everybody can write about anything that they want. So I'm going to talk about a character, and his name is jimmy el patiperro, and is a plastic figurine, a playmobil.

I really like playmobil toys, they are very pretty, and when I was a child me, my brother and my sister had a lot of them. They are plastics figurines, and they represent a character, like a princess, a spaceman, a plumber, or everything that you can imagine. Also they have different accesories related with the character.

One day I found in a box all these toys of my childhood, I felt very happy, beacuse they are really cute and in my room they will look great. But that day I especially liked one, and I started to take him pictures in different places and with a lot of accesories that represented a country of the world or a situation. I was with my best friend and we had so much fun taking pictures, so I decided to do it always, in every place that I went. So I say Jimmy travels all over the world, and in spanish he is a "patiperro", and he not only travels, he also go to celebrations or specials moments, and common places too, for example a birthday or a boring afternoon of study.
I don't really know the cause of his name, only I said oh! his name will be jimmy, and it was.

He appears in almost of my blog's pictures, so I decided to introduce him.

a day in santiago...

Hi! Today we have to be like a tourist guide and talk about interesting places to visit and things to do in Santiago. I don't know much about tourist attractions, but if a friend visit santiago I will show him my favorites places where we can have a really good time.
First the downtown offers many options to visit, for example classics options like La Moneda, our government house, Plaza de Armas, the most important square in Santiago, and full of history with traditional buildings.

A place that I really recommend to visit is San Cristobal hill. There are a lot of green areas to have a really good time and enjoy activities like do a picnic. There I especially like japanese garden, it has some trees and plants and a little lagoon with rocks in it. It is very pretty.
Something that I really love of this hill are the cablecars, you can see the entire city while you travel on them. Sometimes it migth be scary at the beggining, but when you see the awesome view, you don't care.
There is a zoo, the Metropolitan Zoo, and If you like animals you can visit it too.

Parque Forestal (forestal park) is another interesting place to visit. It has green areas to enjoy, and some playgrounds where you can have some fun.
I like very very much ice cream, and the perfect place to buy the most tasty ice cream is Emporio de la Rosa, there are a lot of variety of specials flavors, and you can enjoy it sitting in parque forestal, or lying in the grass.

And the last place that I recommend to visit is Municipal theater. I think that this is a really beautiful building full of awesome little details.
In there you can see shows wih a lot of quality, for example opera and ballet, my favorite one.

riot riot riot!

Hi! here I am again, and today I'm really happy because is a free blog. The topic that we chose is music, and I will talk about a genre of music, but it is not to famous, The Riot grrrl.
Riot grrrl was a feminist punk movement that born on the 90's. This girls defied stereotypes of women, and in their songs they talk about topics like rape, domestic abuse, male dominance of the social hierarchy and female empowerment, from a veri radical point of view.
This movement was centered in Olympia, Washington, and the most important girl, and one of the founders, was Kathleen Hanna.
They always belived in the "Do-It-Yourself" methods, for example they maked fanzines and formed garage bands.
The music is really noisy, and everyone could play it, you did not have to know too much about music if you have something to say and protest about it.
Some bands of this movement were Bikini Kill, Bratmobile, L7, Excuse 17, Team Dresh, etc.
I listen to some of this bands, like Bikini Kill and L7. I enjoy this kind of music, not only because I like only the music, also I think that the lyrics talk about interesting topics.
I agree with gender equality, and I think music is a very powerful arm to protest and to make these ideas well known around the world.
